# Classroom Christmas Games: 8 That Work With 25 Kids

By Tess Marlow · Last updated: October 7, 2026

It is the last hour of the last day, the whole class is too loud to teach, and the playground is wet. You have twenty minutes to fill, a printer down the corridor and no prep time at all. Whatever you start now has to hold all 25 kids at once and ask you to buy nothing.

So here are 8 classroom christmas games that hold 25 kids. Each one says how many children it takes, how many minutes it holds a room, and how many sheets you print.

**Quick answer:** With a full class, start with Four Corners, because everyone plays at once and nobody waits for a turn. Keep Picture Word Search for the end. Six of the eight games below are a single sheet for the whole class; only Bingo and the Word Search want a copy each. No time at the printer at all: a [ready-made Christmas game set](/go/creative-fabrica/?q=christmas+kids+printable+bundle) comes with the class-sized cards already laid out.

## Pick a Christmas Game by How Many Kids Are in the Room

Game lists almost never say how many children a game actually holds. That is the number that decides everything in a classroom, so start there and ignore the titles.

- **Whole class, 25 and up, everyone moving:** Four Corners, Minute to Win It.
- **Whole class, everyone seated:** Bingo, Would You Rather, Picture Word Search.
- **Five teams of five:** Team Quiz, Charades.
- **Half a class or a small group:** Hidden Candy Cane Hunt.

Two games back to back fill about 30 minutes, usually the whole slot you were given.

Our [printable activities sorted by attention span](/printable-activities-for-kids-20-sheets-by-attention-span/) does the same sorting for the rest of the year, and [kids party games](/category/kids-party-games/) covers the end-of-term party.

## Christmas Bingo for 25 Kids: One Sheet Per Child

- **On the sheet:** a grid of 9 squares with a small drawing in each. Tree, star, bell, sock, candy cane. Shuffle the order on every copy, or half the room shouts at once.
- **How to play:** you call the pictures from the front. Children cover a square with a torn scrap of paper. First full row wins, then first full card.
- **Holds:** about 20 minutes, from 10 children up to a whole class, any primary age.
- **Sheets:** 1 per child. A class of 25 takes 25 sheets, and all 25 have to be different.

This is the only game here that costs real printing, and the one that fails most often.

Twenty-five identical grids means twenty-five children win at once, and you will not get the room back after that. Drawing twenty-five different ones by hand is not a free-period job, which is where a ready-made set earns its place.

| Class size | Different cards you need | Sheets to print |
| 10 children | 10 | 10 |
| 20 children | 20 | 20 |
| 25 children | 25 | 25 |
| 30 children | 30 | 30 |

I have never managed to draw more than six of those by hand in one sitting. Our [printable bingo cards](/category/printable-bingo-cards/) section is where the ready-made grids live.

### [Christmas Activity Book for Kids](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-activity-book-for-kids-18)

Colouring, colour-by-number, counting and mark pages for kindergarten and preschool. Pick it when you need a quiet twenty minutes rather than a game.

## Christmas Charades: One Sheet of Cards, Nothing to Buy

- **On the sheet:** a grid of 24 boxes, one word in each. Reindeer, snowman, sleigh, chimney. Cut them apart once and keep them in an envelope.
- **How to play:** five teams of five. One child takes a box and acts it out in silence while their own team guesses. Thirty seconds each, then the next team.
- **Holds:** about 15 minutes, 10 children and up, any primary age.
- **Sheets:** 1 for the whole class.

Keep the easiest words in the top row, so a child who does not read much can pick one without being caught out. I would not run charades in a mixed-reading class without that.

## Christmas Four Corners: Whole Class, No Turns to Wait

- **On the sheet:** four big labels to tape in the corners of the room. Tree, Star, Sleigh, Snowman. Plus a caller’s list in a scrambled order.
- **How to play:** you shut your eyes and count to ten. Everyone walks to a corner. You call one name, and that corner sits down. Last child standing wins.
- **Holds:** about 10 minutes, and this is the one that scales past 30 children without changing a thing.
- **Sheets:** 1 for the whole class.

Open with Four Corners. Nobody is ever waiting for a turn. If you would rather print the four corner labels than cut them from card, [a ready-made game set](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-games-bundle-pdfs) has them laid out already.

Think about what a circle game does with 25 children. Each child plays for one minute in twenty-five. You stand there and watch the room drift away while they wait, and you cannot get it back.

A classroom game fails on waiting time, not on the game. With a full class, anything that gives one child a turn while twenty-four watch is over before it starts.

## Christmas Picture Word Search: One Sheet, One Pencil Each

- **On the sheet:** a letter grid with 12 Christmas words hidden in it. Tree, star, snow, gift, elf, bell. The word list sits underneath.
- **How to play:** circle a word, cross it off the list. Set a timer and let them race, or hand it out silently and let the room settle.
- **Holds:** about 25 minutes, works for one child or for 25 at once, best from first grade upward.
- **Sheets:** 1 per child, but every copy can be identical.

This is the quiet one. Save it for when you have to end the party.

Our [word search and puzzle sheets](/category/word-search-puzzles-for-kids/) have the same shape, so you can swap the Christmas grid out in January.

## Christmas Minute to Win It With Paper Only

- **On the sheet:** a scorecard with five challenge names down the side and five team columns across. The sheet is the scoreboard, not the game.
- **How to play:** five paper-only challenges, one minute each. Tallest tower from one sheet. Blow a paper snowflake across a desk. Pass a paper ring down a line on pencils. Longest paper chain.
- **Holds:** about 15 minutes for all five, 25 children in five teams.
- **Sheets:** 1 scorecard, plus the scrap paper you already have in the recycling tray.

Most lists of christmas classroom games no prep still send you shopping for cups, balloons and candy canes. This version runs on the paper already in your classroom.

That is the only supply you can count on in December. For a wet break rather than a party, our [indoor games sorted by setup time](/indoor-relay-drawing-and-worksheet-games-sorted-by-setup-time/) lists what you can start in under a minute. I keep the scorecard in a plastic pocket; if you would rather not rule one up, [the Christmas Activity Pack](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-activity-pack) comes with grids you print once.

## Christmas Would You Rather: One Sheet, Played From Desks

- **On the sheet:** 16 questions in two columns. Open every present on Christmas Eve, or wait until morning? Be an elf, or a reindeer?
- **How to play:** read a question and the class votes by standing up or sitting down. Pick one child from the smaller side to explain in one sentence.
- **Holds:** about 15 minutes, any class size, and it works with children who cannot read yet because you do the reading.
- **Sheets:** 1 for the whole class.

Nobody leaves their desk, and you put the sheet back in the drawer for next year.

Ask one child why, rather than counting hands. A longer list lives in [would you rather questions](/category/would-you-rather-questions-for-kids/).

## Christmas Team Quiz: Five Teams of Five

- **On the sheet:** two blocks of questions. One a ten-year-old can answer, one a five-year-old can. Mark them with a star and a snowflake; never read the labels aloud.
- **How to play:** five teams of five, which is exactly how 25 children divide. A snowflake question scores the same as a star question, so the youngest child on each team matters.
- **Holds:** about 20 minutes, 15 children and up.
- **Sheets:** 1 question sheet for you, plus one scrap of paper per team for answers.

Score it like that and you keep the quiet children in the game. Pitch everything at the top of the class and a third of the room gives up in five minutes.

The two question blocks are the slowest part to write. If you would rather not spend an evening on them, [a bundle with the trivia already written](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-games-bundle-pdfs) hands you both blocks.

## Hidden Candy Cane Hunt Inside One Classroom

- **On the sheet:** a tally grid, one row per child, and plus a candy cane drawing to photocopy onto scrap paper and cut out. Paper canes, not sweets.
- **How to play:** hide 25 paper canes around the room while the class is out. Five minutes to find them, then everyone tallies. Anyone who finds three or more gives one back to whoever found none.
- **Holds:** about 10 minutes, best with half a class at a time so the room is not a scrum.
- **Sheets:** 1 tally sheet and 1 sheet of cut-out canes.

The giving-back rule is not decoration. Without it, four fast children take everything in ninety seconds and you have twenty-one with nothing to do.

For a bigger version that uses the corridor and the hall, see our [scavenger hunt lists sorted by age](/scavenger-hunt-ideas-for-kids-12-lists-by-age-3-to-11/). The cut-out canes are the fiddly part, and [a printable pack](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-activity-pack) gives you a sheet of them to photocopy instead.

## How Long Each Game Holds a Full Class

Game lists rarely tell you how long one holds a room. Here is the set in order of length.

- **About 10 minutes:** Four Corners, Hidden Candy Cane Hunt.
- **About 15 minutes:** Charades, Minute to Win It, Would You Rather.
- **About 20 minutes:** Bingo, Team Quiz.
- **About 25 minutes:** Picture Word Search.

Treat these as a frame, not a stopwatch. A wet lunchtime is about 40 minutes, so plan three and expect to use two.

Add about 5 minutes of setup. That is your walk to the printer, so put it in the plan, not in your break.

## What One Sheet Really Means at the School Printer

One sheet means one side of one plain A4 or letter page, black and white, on the machine that is always out of toner in December.

- **Black and white only:** a game that needs colour is one you cannot print in the week you need it.
- **One side:** anything you print double-sided cannot be cut up, so you lose the half you paid the toner for.
- **Six of these eight games are a single page for the whole class.** Only Bingo and the Picture Word Search want a copy each.
- **The full set is 8 sheets**, plus 25 copies if you run Bingo. Print the folder once in November and it lasts the season.

Slide each sheet into a plastic pocket and write on it with a dry-erase marker. The Bingo cards, the scorecard and the tally grid all survive several classes that way.

That turns 25 printed sheets into a set you keep. Want the folder to look like something? [A ready-made bundle](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-games-bundle-pdfs) gives you pages you laminate once and reuse.

## The Same Eight Games From Kindergarten to Fifth Grade

Search for easy classroom christmas games and the results split by grade, as if a five-year-old and a ten-year-old needed different games. They need the same ones with two things changed: who reads, and how long you run it.

- **Kindergarten:** you read everything out loud. Four Corners, Would You Rather and Bingo with pictures instead of words. Run each one for about 10 minutes.
- **First and second grade:** add Charades and the Candy Cane Hunt. Children can read the Bingo grid, so you can call words as well as pictures.
- **Third to fifth grade:** all eight. Hand the quiz and the scorecard to two children, and your job becomes timekeeping.

The one thing that really changes with age is patience for waiting, and that gets shorter the younger they are, not longer. I learned that the hard way with a kindergarten circle game, and our [preschool printables](/category/preschool-printables/) section is what I use with that age now.

So if you teach the youngest end of the school, pick the games with no turns first. For a quiet twenty minutes with that age group, [a kindergarten activity book](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-activity-book-for-kids-18) does more for you than any game will.

## The Two Things Classroom Game Lists Leave Out

Search for classroom christmas party games and you get lists of thirteen, seventeen, twenty-one. They are not wrong, just silent about the two facts that decide whether a game survives a full class.

- **Class size:** almost no list says how many children a game actually holds. It is named on about two pages in seven, never next to the game itself. You set up a game written for eight, and lose the room.
- **Paper cost:** no list says how much paper a game costs. One page or twenty-five is the difference between printing in a free period and giving up.
- **Shopping:** more than half of these lists assume a trip to the shops. That is a Saturday you were not planning to spend.

That is why every game above gives you four lines instead of one. What goes on the sheet, how to play it, how many children and minutes it holds, how many sheets you print. If you want those four lines without drawing anything, [a class-sized Christmas game set](/go/creative-fabrica/?q=christmas+kids+printable+bundle) arrives with the pages already made.

## Ready-Made Christmas Game Sheets for a Full Class

Drawing one grid by hand is a ten-minute job. Drawing 25 different ones is not.

That is the job standing between you and a class party that runs itself.

### Classroom Christmas games already laid out for a class of 25

You can describe a game in words. You cannot hand-draw 25 different cards in a free period, and a set made for one child does not become a class set by photocopying it. A ready-made pack is already laid out, and the listing says whether you may print copies for a whole class.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What are the best classroom christmas games for a class of 25?

Four Corners first, then the Team Quiz in five teams of five. Four Corners has no turns to wait for, and 25 divides evenly into five teams.

### What are the best classroom christmas party games when nothing is prepared?

Would You Rather and Minute to Win It. The first needs one sheet you read from, the second scrap paper you already have. Both start within a minute of the bell.

### Which of these are christmas classroom games no prep at all?

Four Corners, Would You Rather and Minute to Win It. You can run all three from one printed page and whatever is in the recycling tray.

### How many sheets do I print for a class of 25?

Eight sheets if you skip Bingo and the Word Search. Those two want a copy each, so a full class takes 25. Twenty-five hand-drawn grids is where most teachers give up, so [a ready-made bundle](/go/creative-fabrica/?p=christmas-games-bundle-pdfs) means you only press print.

## Key Takeaways

*About the author: Hi, I’m Tess. I taught preschool for nine years and now make the printables I used to photocopy at 7am. Every game here has been played with a real group of kids before it goes up, and I tell you how long it actually held their attention, not how long it should have.*
